GOLDEN SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 60: 1-3.

“Arise: shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord; is risen upon you. For behold the darkness shall cover the earth and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you. And His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising”.

The use of the word “Arise” in this scripture shows that there must have been a state of dormancy and or stagnancy in the life of the individual or state unto whom, God’s word came. Such position can come to anyone and whenever one is there, feelings of being in the right track and as such doing the right things will overwhelm one until proven otherwise.

Sometimes even, one may be surrounded by those who do not understand the vision he or she is carrying who; as such while you try to drive forward, they will be driving you backwards. Even Joseph’s father tried to talk him out of his dreams but the young man kept dreaming. You will make a mistake any time you expect others to see what you are seeing. However if anything comes up, keep going until you get to your destination. Hope that you still remember how Abram and Lot’s servants quarreled until there was that separation which made every one go his way!

It is unimaginable how devastated Abram was as Lot in line with Abram’s counsel opted for the greener portion of the land and left him with the dry areas(Genesis 13: 9-11). However as the peace lover that he was, Abram accepted his fate and took the left over which happened to be the land of Canaan. Seeing that he did not bemoan his fate but was convinced that the One who has brought him this far is faithful and will see him through, God called out to Abram and among others said to him: “Arise, walk in the land through its length and its breath for I give it to you” (Genesis 13:17). Thus was the dryness in the land turned into greenness!

The Lord our God who sees in secret and open have looked into the benevolence of this ministry and the lies the evil one and his agents have told against us for the past years and He is saying to us thus: “In every obstacle, there is a miracle as such it cannot be miraculous until it first look ridiculous therefore arise for there are many more territories to take for what is ahead is greater, mightier and more beautiful than what is behind”. That deserves your loudest amen if you know you are a believer.

Nothing great comes light but the multitude of challenges often brings people into fulfillments. There is a high calling of God ahead which means no looking down but upward while pressing towards the goal. Remember always that because Christ is on Board, it will never, never sink no matter the amount of wind that blows or the tempest that strikes. There is a destination as such no gain stopping at any other given station for because the glory of the Lord has risen on us, “We are unstoppable”.

It is not about what they say but about what we say for God’s word can never return to Him void. It is a new day and a day of fresh start. No more tradition for God is out to do a new thing which can not be done if we remain sitting but if we can arise as God is calling us to, just as it is that despite all the attempts of the cloud to obstruct the moon and stars, they have always shone through, we will shine through every obstruction, opposition, hindrance and or whatever name they might go by in the name of Jesus. No believer should miss the opportunity of saying amen to that.

By saying arise and shine, our awesome God wants us to look beyond the past and look into a greater future where He promises to manifest His power and as such prove to the forces of darkness that though our mistakes and short comings may have taken a down toll on us, but He is out to better our lots for: “His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; sorrow may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning” (Psalm30:5). A good reason for which in continuation, His word goes on to assure that though darkness may cover other places but because He lives, we will witness His light. Wow!

We cannot afford to miss this great opportunity this year as such since the word that has gone out of His mouth does not return to God void; it goes without saying that we must act well our part. The best way to do just this is by: 
•    Obeying God
•    Believing God
•    Trusting God
•    Being faithful unto God

These done, this year promises to be our year to mount on with wings like eagles wherein, we will no longer do the walking but running for the years of waiting has given us a carry over to our next level (Isaiah 40:31). It is a year of fresh start and like the Biblical little girl unto whom Jesus said “Tabitha Cum”, and the dead girl arose; God is saying: “Arise and walk” for the days of stagnancy are over.

Move forward and do not dwell in yesterday but in this year Two thousand and T. E. N, God says:

Take
Everything
New

It is a year of new beginnings, newness of things, it is our year to shine and none can stop us except we stop ourselves. God bless you richly.
